Hi Julie,
Using this forum it is possible to upload files that you have saved on your computer (see option below this box) . It is also possible to link to a site on the web by clicking on the hyperlink icon above (next to the picture icon)
( eg the URL http://www.read-the-bible.org/FriendlyBibleStudy.htm)
To set up a hyperlink see below
1. Left click on the URL box, and hold the click until the entire URL is highlighted.
2. While highlighting shows right click again on the URL, and a menu box will pop up.
3. Select the 3rd option down (copy).
4. Write the words in this discussion box that you would like the URL to be connected to eg. Bible Study
5. Left click to highlight the words' Bible Study'
6.. Click the hyperlink icon above, next to the small picture. A box will pop up with the words please enter the website address (URL)
7. Delete the http:// that is already in the box, and paste the copied URL into the box, by right clicking in the box and left clicking on the paste option from the pop-up menu.
9. Click OK
When you have finished using this discussion box click add your reply and when the page is saved you will see the hyperlink to the website

This method is similar on the group set up but the option to upload a file is not below the discussion box, but appears like a new page icon at the end of the list of icons . If you hover the mouse over the icons the different options will show up.

The advantages to forming a group are that there are more options in the Group feature. The Group Feature has a TEXT BOX as well as a discussion box. You could put the current Bible verse in this Text Box for everyone to see, and use a separate discussion box for discussions.
You could also put Bible Study Advice in the TEXT BOX for all to see
To form a group you have to sign-up. click sign up on top right of webpage

Hope this helps. If you know this already (apologies) Never sure how much people understand so I usually assume' 0 'knowledge
Let me know if there is anything else

Julie

Sounds a good Idea. I would think you just start a discussion like this with the particular passage or question. It would be good to have an advice and/or query particular to this blog to guide people and set the boundries.
Expect the best.

You might want to try the Friendly Bible Study method developed by Joanne and Larry Spears. See http://www.read-the-bible.org/FriendlyBibleStudy.htm for instructions.

The Bible is available on many Web sites. The King James Version can be accessed at, among many others, http://quod.lib.umich.edu/k/kjv/browse.html -- search capability is available there as well.
